This website is not a projection of my personality. Or is it? I’m not sure. I clearly don’t know myself very well so what’s the point in trying to describe something I don’t know. I’m certainly not going to label myself with something as trivial as a name. It might be important some day. OK, I’ll try to describe myself. I’m:

Enigmatic

Now. On to descibe the theme of this blog. Actually there are several themes/categories. The general idea is that you can filter by the topic you are interested in.
The Annals of Jimlad This is the title of my original blog, which started out of boredom when I put together a website hosted by Lycos and followed it up by a blog hosted by Google. These innane musings turned out to be humourous to some, so it seemed worth continuing. Any posts on jimlad.furiousthinking.org that were either imported from, or follow the same theme of the original blog are posted under this category.
About me When my friends allowed me to post on their website, furiousthinking.org, I realised that I didn’t really have much intelligence to give. Being interested in every subject, yet not interested enough to pursue the detail of anything, there was only one thing I really could talk about: me. There’s just one post in this category, it was my way of introducing myself when I joined the furious thinkers.
Real Pictures A post with at least one graphical image.
Spiritual I have thoughts and experiences along the lines of spirituality, theology, psychology, etc. all the time, but am not very well read in any of them. If I’m in the mood to write any such thoughts down, this is where I put them.
Slightly Apologetic This category is for thoughts on why it is ok to believe in God or Christ. Not being a student of apologetics, these blog-posts are far from complete. The general intention is to show such belief to be rational, but never to say that unbelief is necessarily irrational, though I will sometimes try to show that certain reasons for disbelief are invalid. Since both belief and unbelief may be rational, I also argue for motivation other than intellectual rational, while insisting that intellectual consistency must be retained whenever it becomes relevant. I acknowledge that intellectual rejection of theism may be both rational and well-motivated (in some cases), but I am not interested in posting an argument for such.
Attempted Poetry I like Poetry, so this is where I molest it. I am rarely satisfied with what I write, but hope that it is only bad poetry in light of the works of good poets, ie that if no good poet had been born to date, people would think what I come up with in these blog posts was the bee’s knees (a term I would have invented, of course). They are all my own composition, except obviously if I link to another website.
A tale from two thousand and six Exactly one month’s telling of a two day event. I went to a Music Festival called Oxegen in the year 2006 but forgot to take my camera in to the stadium to take pictures of the event. Being unemployed at the time, to retain something from the festival for posterity I made great use of my spare time by writing lots of words, including 1,000 words for each band. Reading it again in 2010, some of it looked like good enough nonsense to qualify for the ‘Annals of Jimlad’ theme of my original blog, whereas the ‘climax of the tale’ in fact set the stage to better deal with events that began in 2009.
letting go..To bridge the gap of maturity between the ‘Tale from Two Thousand and Six’ and the ‘Dance of 2009′, I was going to write a single blog post. However, after Keith T pointed out that blogs lose their effect due (among other things) to their soundbite nature, I thought I’d try to make something more of how I’ve developed in recent years, closer to the way a book would be written although still very much a blog and still quite short. Hopefully it’s not too subjective or obvious to have any affect. He also pointed out that I generally don’t aim for clear expression, so my prose will hopefully be coherent here, though my poetry won’t be. The only thing that will make this less interesting is my reluctance to describe experiences that have deeply affected me if by doing so I will embarass others. In case I’ve talked it up: It probably won’t be all that great.
Dance Prequel I wrote a song called ‘Dance of 2009′ about romance, which is hopefully unintelligible enough to put on a public blog, but intelligible enough to mean something even if you don’t know everything that it’s about. It describes a random, unexpected climax in my life but fails to capture properly what came before it, so when I post something in the ‘Dance Prequel’ category, it will describe romance previous to the ‘Dance of 2009′ song.
Cool stuff A hyperlink to something that I liked when I came across it.
Exodus The fictional encounter of a man with the deep nature of reality. Slightly philosophical.
OK, since you ask, no, I don’t know how to pronounce “Haecceity”. Anything else?
